by Sunday,18 Sep 2011 Despite the fact that their logo appears on the Lock Poker website the Malta LGA says they are not affiliated The Poker industry has had more than its fair share of scandals, what with the events of April the 15th or Black Friday and the Full Tilt Poker scandal that rocked the online poker world one would have thought that there have been enough shady goings on to last a life time. Apparently Lock Poker disagree, they are currently in a spat with the Malta Licensing Authority as they have been displaying their logo on the Lock Poker website for some time despite the fact that according to the Maltese gaming authority the appearance on the Lock Poker site of their logo is both false and misleading. After looking into the matter a little more deeply it can be understood where the poker site may have made their mistake. Lock Poker belongs to the Merge Gaming Network which does, in fact, have a category four gaming license that was issued to them by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta. Lock Poker may have assumed that because the network was certified by the LGA then that would extend to them. The LGA have been very forceful in underlining the fact that this is absolutely not the case and the errant poker room are likely to come under massive pressure to remove the logo from both the Maltese authorities and their own network. The precise statement from the LGA was as follows; The Lotteries and Gaming Authority (the Authority’) would like to inform the public that the websitehttp://lockpoker.eu/ has no connection whatsoever with the Authority and therefore any mention of the Authority or licence issued by the Authority on the mentioned website is false and misleading. There isnt much room for interpretation from a statement like this, it is pretty clear what the situation is. The Maltese authority doesnt just have a very loud bark but an extremely tough bite as well. They havent hesitated to suspend and/or cancel the licenses of gaming companies that they have found to be in breach of their own rules. The list of suspended gaming sites is long and illustrious with the Betonbet, Gold Victory, Betchance and many more suspended sites able to vouch for this. Lock Poker are going to have to remove the logo or continue to face the wrath of the Maltese LGA one of the most respected gaming authorities in the world.

Have been losing a lot
I have been putting off talking about this on my blog for quite some time but for honesty reasons Ive decided to include you in on one of the most stressful months for me ever as a poker player. Ill keep it brief, and I wont elaborate on any useless details, but I just feel like its fair I shared this Ive been losing. I usually average one or two losing sessions a week, but over the month of April Ive only had like 5 or 6 winning sessions. Only one big one, and 4 BIG losing sessions, losing well over 5 buy-ins. It looks like Ive hit a fork in the road in my life as a poker player, and it seems like for the first time ever Ill be moving down the limits to allow my bankroll to (hopefully) recover. Its a painful thing to do, but no more $5/$10 for me for a couple months, Im afraid. Please pray for me. I need assistance from Up There. Although this table game uses the hand rankings and general concept of poker, it lacks the subtlety and skill of variations like Texas holdem and seven card stud, where the players compete directly with one another. In fact, three card poker is even simpler to play than blackjack, in which the player must learn the optimal decision for each set of hands in relation to the dealers up card. Three card poker involves only three decisions: Is it worth playing due to the payout structure? Should I bet the Pair Plus? Do I fold or play my hand? Lets start with the first question. While roughly similar, there are several different payout structures on the ante bet, which vary from casino to casino. Fortunately, the difference in house edge in almost all of these structures is less than 1%. When choosing where to play, your best option will be a table that pays 5 to 1 on a straight flush and 4 to 1 on three of a kind, although 3 to 1 isnt much worse. You should be aware, however, that there are some casinos that do not pay a bonus on the ante when the player makes a straight, improving the house edge. If possible, avoid three card poker at these casinos, even if a special payout for a Mini Royal Flush is offered. The next decision you need to make is whether or not to play the Pair Plus circle. A friend of mine once told me a story about how his father had won a lot of money using the strategy of betting on the Pair Plus, as if this were some sort of expert move. On the contrary, the Pair Plus is often seen as a sucker bet, as it serves merely to increase the house edge, though the prospect of a big payday on a straight flush is certainly enticing. The most common pay structure, in which a flush pays 3 to 1, is actually the least favorable to the player. In general, play at places that offer 4 to 1 odds on a flush and 6 to 1 on a straight; the other hands are rare enough that slight variations in the payout do not much matter. If youve decided to play in the game at all, you must then choose to fold or play your hand each round. Fortunately, this is probably the easiest decision of all: bet the Play if your hand is Q-6-4 or better and fold if it is lower. In other words, play any hand that contains a king, any hand that contains a queen and a seven or better, and any hand that contains a queen, a six, and a four or better. This hand is the cutoff point for where the player begins to lose less than he would lose by folding. Using this strategy and betting the Pair Plus would give the house an edge of a little over 5%, which is higher than blackjack and some bets on the craps table but not too bad when compared with many of the other bets in the casino.
